Hoop Flow Classes with Deanne Love: Season 7

After a beautiful on body warm up where we give ourselves time to come into our circle, we bring movement to all parts of the body.
Coordination station is about finding balance and playing with pace by using off body hoop drills. Also great strengthening practices.
Flow session > old school and new school moves including a 360 weaves, lift offs and drop ons plus on body and off body moves. A cool combination of tricks and transitions.
We flow it through then break it down.
Our cool down gives us some time and focus to release through the upper body and the hips.
During our warm-up we find a rhythm on our body and bring in divine undulations to strengthen our mid and upper body hooping.
We work on balance and strength during our coordination. We work on a trick that might feel unusual to you (a leg spin to step through) to bring intelligence to all parts of our body.
In this week's flow session we combine some twisting off-body moves, a step-through transition as well as a body wrap to isolation barrel roll. We break it down and flow it through.
Cool down with a little vinyasa flow.
Bringing awareness to the upper body with some dance warm up moves we prepare our body for this flow class. We work on some cool upper body hoop drills.
We explore hoop wobbles and contact hooping in the coordination this week.
This week we do things a little differently. I give you a variety of small flow sessions and then we explore how we can had a variety of moves to the beginning and end of each flow session.
Cooldown gives us time to release tension and wind down.
Bringing the hoop onto your body to warm up and prepare, bringing awareness to full body hooping.
During coordination station this week we do some repetitive circuits or patterning as a way of accessing flow in our movement focus.
Great ways to become stronger, more coordinated, more mobile with your dance.
One of my fav flow sessions this week including a pop in move and we explore the variation with a full barrel roll. We add a fold, breaks and elbow contact escalator as well to keep things interesting.
Cool down is a beautiful way to integrate everything we have learned.
The Mandala is a heart exploding, behind the back, hoop move. On it's own it is a whirlwind of hoop dance fun but when you explore the multitude of techniques and transitions that compliment the Mandala you will be opening up to a new world of movement with your hoop. In this workshop we will move in, out and all around the Mandala and explore creative variations of the move.
First let's roll through some of the original forms of the Mandala move. Breaking down each move and also exploring ways to transition into the moves will help you to access a more fluid style and upper body release. Then we will discover variations using one and two hands. This is where you can really get creative and start to blend the moves together.
Mandalas really bring focus to the shoulders, arms, chest, ribs and neck so let's finish with a stretch to release any built up tension in those areas so you can feel more mobility with each practice.
